Taiping War Cemetery
July 1, 2009  |  Taiping  |  ,

Taiping War Cemetery is a graveyard for those killed during World War II. Many soldiers, including some from the Royal Malay Regiment, Gurkhas, British and Australian troops, were killed during the Japanese Invasion of Malaya. It contains 826 graves of commonwealth casualties.

Until today, its lawn and surroundings are very well tended. It was constructed and is maintained by the commonwealth war graves commission. The cemetery is 2 kilometres from the town, past the open park on the road to the waterfall and swimming pool.
